Lost in the dense jungles of scattered islands, facing perils unimagined by their ancestors, are three warrior groups - The traditional JungleClan, descendants of the original clans carried aboard a twoleg contraption from their home long ago and breaking new ground on old beliefs. Second, the curious TidalClan, made up of kittypets who chose to abandon their long since passed twoleg civilization ways for those of true felines. Lastly, the mysterious Tribe of Twisted Roots, hidden in the mist from others with their strange ways and a deeper knowledge of the land around them. Together they must learn how to take their fate into their own paws if they wish to survive this land of erupting mountains and roaring waters.
Join our crew and dive into an island-based Warriors roleplay - a twist on the original series by Erin Hunter. We are a semi-literate site with a minimum of 100 words per post.
Within this thread is all of the information pertaining to TidalClan. You will learn general information about the clan including their history, the current leader's decree, and their allegiances. Each of these posts will be found within this thread.
TidalClan are descendants from the pet cats that were brought by the twolegs who settled on the island. The twolegs brought many varieties of cats, including purebreds and mixed breeds. Since it has been over 20 years since TidalClan has settled, the general look of the cats is generally shorter furred (however, not always) with no specific pelt colour. Tabbies are very common! They tend to be medium to small in size, but of course, not every TidalClan cat fits into that description.
The overall personality of TidalClan cats is friendly - however, they are fiercely loyal to what is theirs and they dislike changes. The south of their island is all they have known, and they harbour a healthy fear of the jungle which is why the clan has never tried to claim any other land for themselves. They act bravely when they are in their own element, however, outside of their comfort zone their bravery diminishes quickly. TidalClan on average is a peaceful group, but will strike back when necessary to defend their home, family and clanmates.
The religious views of TidalClan are usually quite strong. They are rather God-fearing, in fact, their whole religion is based on leaving offerings to the Gods in hopes of good weather and prosperity. Most of the Clan is big on worshipping the Gods and should there be a cat in TidalClan who doesn't they run the risk of being looked down on.
Their naming convention is very similar to JungleClan's traditional "clan" naming, however while they have a mix of traditional names they also have their own island themed prefixes and suffixes. You can read more suggestions for island themed names here!
To the ends of the earth, would you follow me? There's a world that was meant for our eyes to see. Out there's a world that calls for me. Well if there are strangers, and all kinds of danger, please don't say I'm going alone. I was ready to die for you, baby, but that doesn't mean I'm going to stay.

The other navigator took the opportunity to pounce on the fallen cattail. She sprang off a bit awkwardly, but Ember found himself finding the grace in her movements despite the clumsy execution. She was smaller than him, and moved so nimbly without even trying to. Before long, she had snagged the drooping stem back up in her mouth, amber eyes glowing with a challenge to catch her - her tail wiggling in the air with delight.
[break][break]This was the most fun he had been able to have in moons. He had been so focused on his duties lately, the last patrol he had been on had been soured with Monarch dropping in without an invitation just to boss everyone around. The younger quartermaster had always been somewhat of a thorn in his side, but despite that he had managed to put it aside to focus on being the best navigator he could be for his tribe. Spending his free time playing with Rain without a care in the world was an amazing feeling that not even Monarch could ruin for him.
[break][break]After shooting him a challenging gaze, the she-cat hurtled forward and began pelting down the shore of the lake. Ember, still on his back, rolled back over and stood - fluffing out his russet coloured fur. He streaked after her, yowling complaints of how unfair it was she got such a long head start. He was making good time catching up on her, and before long her shape was in front of him about to scramble over some rocks that were next to the lake.
[break][break]He watched in realtime as she lost her footing on the moist moss-covered rocks and scrambled off of them and into the lake with a splash, yowling the entire time. Ember flattened his ears to his skull, his fur puffed out twice his size. The shore should be pretty shallow, but that seemed like an awkward fall. What if Rain had hurt herself? He streaked down to where she had splashed and dived into the water, the shock of the cool water hitting him as he felt his head sink under for a moment. "Rain?!" He mewed while thrashing his paws in the lake water, trying to keep his head above the water.
After he had demonstrated the duck and twist to Cicadapaw, he watched the apprentice expectantly. He was not expecting anything great from the young tom, not just because of how clumsy and timid he was; but because it was his first ever training session. He knew full well that he was pushing the tom to his limits, but he knew that in order to help the tom grow and develop it was necessary.
[break][break]Ocean blue eyes focused on the brown and white tom, watching as the small scrap of fur demonstrated the first part of the move by moving into a hunching position. Once the twist part of the duck and twist was introduced, Cicadapaw became a tangle of long limbs. Before long, he had tripped himself up in his own legs. Barracudabite had expected failure, so he didn't let any sort of reaction show on his face at the display when the apprentice landed on his flank on the ground.
[break][break]The younger tom lay there for a moment, looking at the sky without saying a word. He couldn't know for sure, but he could feel the wave of emotions rippling off the tom like a tsunami. A small pang of sadness washed over him as he looked at the scene before him, but he wouldn't let Cicadapaw drown himself in self pity. The mentor rose to his paws, and padded closer to his apprentice, keeping his tone and facial expressions neutral. He nosed the younger tom, hoping to help him into a sitting position so he could look him in the eye and speak to him.
[break][break]"Cicadapaw, you need to put your fear of failure behind you," He started in a firm voice. "How would any of us learn at all if it wasn't for our failures? Even I could not have perfected that move on my first try." He added, his voice softening ever so slightly. As stoic as the tom could be, there was something about him that reminded him of his sister - a softer and more gentle warrior than himself, he had always had a soft spot for her but tried to never show it.
[break][break]"Come, you must practise again," He mewed, getting up on his paws again to demonstrate the duck and roll. This time he performed the move as slow as he could, trying to give Cicadapaw a good idea of where his legs should be moving. Once finished, he moved over and gave Cicadapaw an encouraging nod. "The only way to get better is to try, and try again - despite failing. You must fail until you perfect the moves I show you. That is how you will learn."

Description sentence: A small tortiseshell she-cat with thick fur and green eyes
Appearance: Cinderfang was given the prefix Cinder when she was a kit because her mother reckoned she looked like a ginger cat that someone dropped in ashes and rolled around. There is truth in such a description. Her coat is sprinkled with ginger and black, with a few small patches of white or or gray mixed in for good measure. Her pelt is long and feathery, she often looks like a big ball of fluff when she is angry. She has very long fur around her ears and tail especially. She is of a smaller stature, and while she is rather tiny and fragile looking in bone structure - her furry pelt covers her finer details. She has brilliant bright green eyes, the shade of a grassy meadow on a warm summer's day.
Personality
Please list at least three positive and three negative traits for your character below.
Personality: Cinderfang would best be described as chaotic neutral if you had to put some sort of easy label on her. She follows her own whims and dances to the beat of her own drum. She has a respect for the warrior code and her clan, but she has no problem breaking the rules if she feels that it is right in that moment. She holds her own interests and those closest to her at utmost importance. While she will fight for the clan and is a hardworking warrior, the clan isn't her number one priority.
She is fiercely protective of those she cares about the most. In fact, she would gladly put her own safety in danger for those closest to her - no matter what. Her clan members she doesn't care much for? Not so much. It's pretty easy to know whether she likes you or not. Cinderfang has no issues showing her true colours. She also has no issues speaking her mind, regardless of potential consequences. This can be a problem paired with her confidence - she often acts as if she is untouchable, as if she is immune to any kind of consequences.
Cinderfang has a bit of a temper sometimes. She can be rude, unruly and impulsive. She often acts on emotion, which means not all of her decisions are well thought out. While she is extremely intelligent when she stops to think things through, her actions are often only out of impulse. She usually fights with her words, she can often become aggressive physically as well if pushed just far enough.
Skills & Combat
Please list at least three strengths/weaknesses your character may have, such as: hunting, fighting, swimming, healing, etc.
History: Growing up in the Jungle wasn't the easiest life, as one could imagine. The constant threat of death from the terrain, predators, weather or even starvation always hung over the heads of the clan that lived in the dense northern rainforest. This fear of death or injury at every turn had Sealsong an anxious mess when she became a mother. She wasn't afraid of these things until she had her kits to worry about - then, almost suddenly, her world seemed alive with all sorts of danger she never stopped to think about before. Once the litter was born; Cinderkit, Smokekit and Blazekit were smothered with love, affection and above all - anxiety. Sealsong refused to let the kits out of her sight, and it became suffocating for everyone. Her mate Gingernose became frustrated and distanced himself from the mother and the litter when he became tired of hearing the same rants over and over whenever he visited the nursery.
Apprenticeship was a new world of freedom for the kits. Once they had earned the 'paw at the end of their names, live really began to get interesting. Often they would sneak out together when Sealsong wasn't watching and get into mischief. The dangers of the jungle didn't worry them like they worried their mother. All of that changed one even in an instant, though. Not unlike the many escapades into the jungle; the three apprentice siblings snuck out of camp in the middle of the night. Although they thought they had not been seen, Sealsong woke up in the night to discover the empty nest and in a flurry of panic raced out of camp to search for her children. The apprentices were fine, of course, and wandered back to camp and sunk into their nests heavy with sleep. It wasn't until they were awoken later at dawn when they were informed Sealsong had gone missing that they understood the consequences of their actions.
The siblings felt the disappearance and presumed death of their mother weigh heavy on them. Cindperpaw was depressed for a time, but she decided that she didn't want to live in a constant fear of what could happen. She wanted to find a zest for life, to do everything her mother wasn't able to do. She wanted to live each and every single day to the fullest. It wasn't long before her personality morphed into what she is today - a carefree, outspoken adventurer who acts on whatever whim she pleases. She was given the name Cinderfang for her strength despite her small size, and her precocious confidence.
Cinderfang was an independent she-cat who didn't put a lot of thought into having a mate. She didn't feel she needed anyone looking out for her, until she began falling in love with Iguanagaze, one of her closest friends since apprenticeship. The handsome tabby tom had been in love with another, the pretty tabby-and-white Ivytide - he never looked at her that way until the latter seemed to reject him time and time again. When Iguanagaze came to her, she felt wanted and began to see her friend in a new light. Before long, though, Ivytide began to see what she missed out on. When she started coming back around, Cinderfang began feeling something new to her - jealousy. She became a green eyed monster when Iguanagaze went back to his original flame.
While she tried not to let on how hurt she was, this soon began to show itself in a new form. She became hostile, petty and often even verbally aggressive to the pair. When Ivytide became deputy, and then leader - she had a lot of opinions. She thoroughly enjoys flaunting that Iguanagaze chose her over Ivystar at one point in time, and has no problem causing trouble when she feels inclined to. She has mostly gotten over the heartbreak, but her bitterness and jealousy have never fully simmered.

hings felt simple with Coralfrost. For a little while she could pretend that she wasn't the chief of TidalClan, and put aside the rigid expectations of her behaviour to have a bit of fun. She somehow could sense that Coralfrost didn't seem to mind that she let loose and showed her playful side. In fact, she felt as though the other she-cat blossomed when she lightened up. Tinystar trotted behind the younger cat, her pelt dancing ever so slightly in the salty breeze that was coming off of the sea and rustling through the Sea of Grass. Everywhere around them the grasses swayed, the hum of the blades brushing against each other was a soothing melody.
[break][break]It wasn't long before Coralfrost had led her to a patch of pink flowers, the aroma coming from them was deep yet somehow delicate. She inhaled deeply, purring with content. Her eyes lit up as Coralfrost told her that these were her favourite. She was honoured to get to see. The she-cat seemed so at home and content amidst the patch of hibiscus flowers; it was nice to see. Just like the strong stalks and pretty petals of these flowers, Coralfrost was also blooming before her eyes.
[break][break]As the other she-cat explained that the strong scent fades quickly in the nest, Tinystar found herself nodding. Yes, these would certainly brighten up the lonely living quarters. She purred her approval. "These are lovely, Coralfrost!" She mewed. The words had barely left her lips when a familiar scent wafted from behind her, momentarily grabbing her attention away from the floral scents. Newtstripe! The tom appeared soon after, meowing a greeting to the two she-cats.
[break][break]Before she could register what was going on, the striped brown tabby tom had picked the stalk of the hibiscus flower up delicately with his jaws, and placed the flower between her ears. The chief couldn't help but let out a rumbling purr as she chuckled at his teasing words. For a moment she allowed the flower to stay, but gently lowered her head so the flower would fall to the ground carefully. She then picked it up with her own teeth and placed it at Coralfrost's paws, a small smile on her face.
[break][break]"Thank you, Newtstripe," She mewed in response to the compliment he had set forward, her heartbeat catching in her throat for a moment. She didn't even notice that Coralfrost was feeling exactly the same way towards her as she was feeling towards Newtstripe in that moment. What a predicament. The she-cat forced herself to rip her gaze from the familiar tom with his golden eyes like honey, and focused on the green eyes as clear as the grass sea itself of Coralfrost.
[break][break]"Coralfrost was kind enough to show me her favourite patch of flowers to line our nests with!" She mewed, dipping her head to the younger she-cat in acknowledgement. She carefully averted her gaze away from Newtstripe, worried that she might reveal the inner turmoil she was feeling if she stared at him for a moment too long. "What brings you out here tonight, anyways?" She mewed, her tone carefully crafted to sound friendly as she admired the patch of pink flowers instead of looking at the tom.

he words from Newtstripe seemed to hold more meaning than he was letting on. The wink and purr towards her made her suddenly feel self conscious. The leader breathed a small inaudible breath of relief when Sharksong pulled the prey off to the side away from the fresh kill pile and began selecting the pieces he would be taking for his portion of the meal. She turned from Newtstripe to follow Sharksong, watching as he tore into the hind leg of the hare and as he used his claws to pry part of the tuna off. The deputy paused before eating, obviously wanting to speed up the meal process but still show how polite he could be. She blinked respectfully at the gray-and-white tom.
[break][break]The question Newtstripe had asked hung in the air, but she couldn't find the words to respond. Instead she focused on how tasty the prey that they had selected looked. She was about to tell Sharksong to begin when Newtstripe offered her to eat first. It felt weird to be given permission to eat first by someone. Generally, she waited for the whole clan to eat before she even considered eating herself. She dipped her head to Newtstripe and settled down next to Sharksong to take the first bite. The chief selected a nice meaty chunk of shoulder off of the hare, and a fatty bit of tuna. She licked her whiskers after dividing her portion and pulling it towards herself, excited to tuck in.
[break][break]She took one more look at Newtstripe, patting the spot beside her with her tail in an offer to sit on her other side. She turned to Sharksong and smiled warmly. The sun was beating down and warming her pelt, and for a moment it was as if there were no worries in the world. She lowered her head to begin snacking on the hare - the taste a pleasant treat. She purred as she enjoyed the first few morsels, and looked at the other two toms to see if they had begun eating, too. "We are very blessed today." She mewed softly.

[break][break]Barracudabite could tell that the other tom was annoyed with his decision, but he didn't care. He felt his decision was the right one, and he had no problem letting Rockshade know that, too. He could see the point that the striped brown tom had, but it would be suicidal to take on the cubs - especially if their mother was around. It would be best to take it to the leader and deal with the situation as a whole clan. When Rockshade yielded, Barrcudabite lifted his head up slightly, feeling good that the tom agreed with him even if it was reluctant.
[break][break]The dejected tom echoed his thoughts. The angular head of Barracudabite nodded in agreement. "Yes, this is out of our paws right now." He meowed quietly. He wasn't sure that the den was this close to camp, anyway. Perhaps they just came here to play. The other was right about the risk involved, though. They needed to get out of there - and quickly before the cub's mother came back.
[break][break]Lifting his head up to taste the air, the bluish silver tabby tom frowned. Rockshade was right, the wind would carry their scents right to the cubs if they weren't careful. He locked eyes with the younger tom for a moment, and nodded. "Are you ready? On the count of three..." He hissed. "One... Two... Three... Go!" The tom lurched forward and began streaking as fast as he could towards the direction of camp, throwing his head back to see if his partner in crime was close behind or not.
