09.30.2019 → There has been some exciting changes on CD lately! We've added a new monarchy to the groups of cats on the islands, as well as restructured the boards a bit to allow for some space - thus, redrawing the map! We've also promoted Nifty to Global Mod! There are some auditions open right now for JungleClan Deputy as well as for all of the new Kingdom of Mokuhau high ranks - Artemis
09.12.2019 → Unfortunately Elaedria is stepping down as administrator due to life being too busy to keep up! The site will be going through some restructuring in high ranks as well due to this. Effective immediately, the word count is now 100 minimum. Some more changes will be coming in the future - members have been emailed a survey to help us figure out what to change and how to get better. Thanks for your patience! - Artemis
WEATHER
Year 55, Scorching Sands 09.05.2019 → The temperatures of the islands are a steady 98° F on land/ high 80s in water. There is almost no breeze, the sun is uncomfortably warm.
Prey during the day is pretty scarce due to the heat, however is quite active after the sun goes down.
Lost in the dense jungles of scattered islands, facing perils unimagined by their ancestors, are three warrior groups - The traditional JungleClan, descendants of the original clans carried aboard a twoleg contraption from their home long ago and breaking new ground on old beliefs. Second, the curious TidalClan, made up of kittypets who chose to abandon their long since passed twoleg civilization ways for those of true felines. Lastly, the mysterious Tribe of Twisted Roots, hidden in the mist from others with their strange ways and a deeper knowledge of the land around them. Together they must learn how to take their fate into their own paws if they wish to survive this land of erupting mountains and roaring waters.
Join our crew and dive into an island-based Warriors roleplay - a twist on the original series by Erin Hunter. We are a semi-literate site with a minimum of 100 words per post.
Your Name: Artemis Your Current Characters: Laurelpaw, Barracudabite, Tinystar, Ember of Dying Flame Do you have any high ranks? If yes, would you like to relinquish any? I am allllll good! Tiny is gonna stick around for a bit longer c; Do you wish to archive any characters/threads you have on the go? There may be some threads finishing up to be archived soon. Barracudabite MIGHT get archived if I don't get more plots going for him soon. Maybe next activity check while I hmm and haw about it.
Ahoy, everyone! Been a busy month for everyone once again! We hope work, school and life in general are going well for everyone.
If you've just joined feel free to respond however it is not necessary!
This is a new kind of activity check. We want the community to know that we understand that it is possible to be busy with life and come here when you have free time and roleplay. We don't want to penalize people or make them feel unwelcome when they are just busy with life. This activity check is a quick check to see which characters/threads will need to be archived.
Old marked inactive accounts will not be purged until after three unanswered activity checks. This should be plenty of time! If you miss this particular activity check you won't be subject to being marked inactive, but your character could be archived and removed from the stats as this check is mostly focused around active characters so members know who is actively looking to plot while we work on rolling out a new plot.

To the ends of the earth, would you follow me? There's a world that was meant for our eyes to see. Out there's a world that calls for me. Well if there are strangers, and all kinds of danger, please don't say I'm going alone. I was ready to die for you, baby, but that doesn't mean I'm going to stay.

The russet tom couldn't help but chuckle as she seemed relieved when he leapt off of her. Her response to calling her a furball made him chuckle. How could he argue that? He knew that the she-cat was teasing, though. Her eyes were dancing, alight with humour. For a moment he appreciated the way that the early afternoon sunlight danced on her tabby pelt, making patches glow an almost golden hue. Realizing he hadn't answered her, he plastered a smirk on his face. "Well you were slow enough to get squashed in the first place!" He retorted lightly.
[break][break]He watched out of the corner of his eye as she rolled over and began cleaning her stomach fur. The white tufts were a stark contrast to the ground under her. When he reappeared, dangling the cattail over her head, it was as if something possessed her to bat at it. The missed swat made him chuckle with the stem grasped between his teeth. She gasped softly, acting awfully betrayed to have him yank the fun toy away from her in a game of catch-it-if-you-can.
[break][break]Rain was up on her paws in a flash, and before he could react she had launched herself forward. He felt the soft blow of her landing on top of his back, a little awkwardly. She managed to stick the landing, though. She had clambered her way on top of him. He collapsed under her, playfully pretending to buckle under her weight. "Agh!" He groaned as he fell, the plant falling out of his opened jaws. "Oh no!" He mewed. The cattail was too far for him to reach.
Just wanted to say a little thank you to everyone who has replied thus far to our survey. We've had 12 responses so far and the feedback has been very constructive and mostly positive. I just want to reiterate that we really value your feedback as a community.
Warriors cats sites often go hard at first and then die and fade into oblivion. We realize that a year round island climate is different, and we took that risk going into it. For the most part that risk has paid off. We hear your concerns, opinions and critiques and we are working hard to address them. Chasing Dusk was built to be a lax place to roleplay with the goal of maintaining the appropriate activity to keep character and member-to-member plots moving and engaging for everyone. It seems we really missed the mark in rolling out the current plot slowly and somewhat secretively and with the help of staff, high ranks and each and every single one of you who took the time to fill out our survey we hope that we can make the next plot just as dramatic and engaging as you all would like to fulfil your hopes for the site.
Thank you for your patience - if you have any additional feedback my dms are always open. I really like chatting and making new friends, especially in the warriors world - one of the roleplay worlds I always come back to. I am very shy and anxious about reaching out to people so please don't take me for standoffish, if you'd like to chat with me I am always available and much chattier in dms most likely! You can message me on site or on Discord, anytime.
The site may need to go into maitainance mode at some point to allow us to work on the potential changes we are dreaming up. If that happens it will be a short amount of time and it will be announced onsite and on discord.
Thank you, everyone. Together with your help we can make CD what it was intended to be. Fun, welcoming, inclusive, positive and engaging for everyone.

02. Tribe Cats: Tribe OCs are now officially free! For anyone who has purchased a Tribe cat in the past, please message one of the staff for a refund of shells!
Hello everyone! Your friendly neighbourhood administrator, Artemis, here.
There's no doubt that September has been a killer month. Everyone has been so busy with work, school or life in general and it shows in the site activity.
The staff met tonight to discuss a resolution, and what we decided was we have a few more ideas before we throw in the towel *ba dum tiss*. Please take a second to read some big changes around the site below. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know.
From a personal standpoint, Chasing Dusk was built as a place to escape drama, and to have a chillaxing environment to roleplay at our leisure. We've built an amazing community and it's been a slice getting to know you all. I really hope that we can figure out some ways to get muse going again, because I have so many plots I want to fulfil and so many of you I have yet to roleplay with yet. Thank you everyone - you truly are a fabulous community, and once again shows how amazing Warriors lovers are.
Staff Changes
Probably the biggest news, and alas the saddest - Elaedria has stepped down as administrator and the leader of JungleClan. Life is just too busy on their end right now and while Ela has put in SOOOO much into CD (we wouldn't be here today without Ela's amazing writing, ideas, coding and hard work) we know that life comes first and we hope Ela will still hang around in discord and roleplay with us casually. Thank you Ela for everything, and we wish you the best with school this year!
High Rank Changes
There are going to be some inactive high ranks that need filling, which calls for some restructuring. We are giving all high rank holders a chance to decide whether they want to continue on in that capacity, but once decisions have been made some changes will be made which means there may be some auditions very soon. We appreciate your patience in this matter as we know it can be a bit frustrating!
Other Changes Around The Site
Word Minimum → MINIMUM IS NOW 100 WORDS, for everybody. This is effective immediately. We hope relaxing on the word minimum means we can get through more character development faster, and less of a muse blockage for ya'll.
Tribe Cat Purchases → While it will remain a paid item, for the remainder of September and possibly some of October Tribe purchases are going to be 25% off in the shop, along with some other items going on sale too!
Forbidden Romances → You no longer need to pay for these, nor is there a limit. Every forbidden romance that is engaged will come with a 50/50 dice roll of whether it is discovered by the high ranks of your group. Having a FR litter will become a shop purchase instead.
High Rank Quotas → We are completely removing quotas for high ranks, however the requirement of logging in once a week is being put in place instead for now while this is up for discussion.
Can I have my say in the future of CD?
ABSOLUTELY.
We are looking for opinions, suggestions and just your feedback in general about how the site proceeds. There is a lot changing all at once but we don't want to cut the community we've built out of our decision making.
Above everything, Chasing Dusk wouldn't be here without you guys and we value your opinions SO freaking much.
PLEASE fill out this lil survey to let us know what you think we can do to improve the muse for everyone on the site. It's anonymous and we don't bite!
Congratulations wren! Your character has been approved! Please be sure to sign your character up to the TAKEN NAMES AND CLAIM and add your character to TIDALCLAN'S ALLEGIANCES before making your first in-character post!

The clan was fed, patrols were done... there was no harm in having some fun. The she-cat tripped over her own snowy white paws, becoming an easy target for Ember. The fluffy russet tom managed to pin her underneath him quite easily. He chuckled, persistently continuing to hold her down with little effort though she wiggled about under him. It wasn't hard to keep her pinned down, he was quite larger than her. "Gotcha!" He meowed, eyes glinting mischeviously.
[break][break]He couldn't help but smirk at her comment. He knew her comment was just a teasing one. He grumbled some sort of remark in response under his breath. He watched as under his paws, the smaller she-cat was looking around frantically. He worried that perhaps he had caused her to lose something of importance to her, but it wasn't until she spoke again did he find out what she was looking for.
[break][break]His eyes were wide as he watched her look, and he leapt off of her - alarmed for a moment. It wasn't until she looked at him and made the next remark that he breathed a bit easier. He shook his head, laughing. "You silly furball. You had me worried there for a moment!" He mrrowed, rolling his eyes at her. He could imagine just how squished the plant would be under her. "I guess we'll just have to find another one."
[break][break]He turned away from Rain for a moment, looking for another plant. It wasn't long before his eyes fell on more of the long grassy plant, the fluffy end of the cattail catching his eyes. He dropped into a prowl, and with a firm push of powerful hind legs he was in the air. He pulled the plant down with unsheathed claws with ease. He picked it up between his teeth and padded back to where the other navigator sat, and dangled the fluffy plant over her - trying to bait her into batting at it so he could pull away and fake her out.
[break][break]Barracudabite nearly hissed with annoyance when Rockshade started bossing him around. What kind of furball was he to tell him what to do? He bit back the sound, though, knowing that making any additional racket right now would be a stupid move. Instead he was content to just glare at Rockshade with an icy blue gaze. The look in the Rockshade's eyes was enough to tip off Barracudabite to what he was thinking, he didn't even need to hear his next words.
[break][break]"Do you have bees in your brain?" He yowled, a little louder than he maybe had meant to. He blinked furiously for a moment between Rockshade and the panther cub to make sure he hadn't tipped off their location before continuing in a quieter tone. "Even though it is just a cub, it's at least twice the size of one of us!" He mewed, his voice faint but strained with urgency.
[break][break]Surely Rockshade didn't understand the situation they were in. The cub, while young and perhaps quite a lot smaller than an adult panther, was still able to deal a death blow with one swipe of its large black paws. That was a chance that Barracudabite didn't want to take. The striped tabby tom was still going on about killing it, though, much to the dismay of the silver tabby tom.
[break][break]"Even if the warrior code didn't apply to a panther cub, we would be absolutely mad to try and kill it. What if the mother came back to protect it? Even StarClan couldn't save us then. The smartest thing to do would be to sneak further away from camp." He mewed. "Perhaps we could even lure it away with a piece of freshkill? That way it would keep the camp safe. If we went to camp now we would be leading it and potentially the mother right back into our camp for a feast." The tom's stomach did a somersault at that thought.

Under his gaze, he watched as the newly named apprentice jolted violently out of whatever thoughts he had been having and twisted to look at his mentor. Cicadapaw managed to choke out some words, but they came out in a jumbled sentence that was hardly coherent. Barracudabite's tail flicked behind him irritably but he managed to bite back any harsh words he was thinking of. It was the young tom's very first apprentice training session, of course he was nervous. He would need to learn to be more patient if he was going to impart any sort of lasting knowledge onto Cicadapaw. "Good."He replied simply, narrowing his eyes at the apprentice as he took in the younger tom.
[break][break]He knew that others pitied the fearful tom, but not Barracudabite. He had time to grow into a fearsome warrior yet, and if there was anyone in the clan who was cut out for the job of helping him grow some confidence, it was him. He thought he saw a little light of pleasure in the younger tom's eyes after letting him know that getting here was good, but it passed quickly. He hoped that was the light of a fire that was ignited deep within the young apprentice. The light of ambition that would hopefully fuel him towards being a strong warrior for JungleClan. One could only hope.
[break][break]The silvery tom waited as Cicadapaw deliberated with which decision to make for his first session as an apprentice. It came to a surprise when the younger tom decided he wanted to start with battle training. The warrior tried to hold his surprised look in as he nodded his head. "Very well, we shall start with battle training." He mewed, blinking. He figured the first thing to start with would be defence. There was no point starting on how to fight if you didn't know how to protect yourself, first. It was important to know how to defend yourself and the clan, after all.
[break][break]"Let's start with the Duck and Twist. It is a very simple defensive move," He instructed, moving into a position that was more conducive to demonstrating the move. Barracudabite ducked, then twisted around. He then rolled over onto his back, and sprang to his paws. It was a seamless move, and he landed on his paws gracefully. "Alright, Cicadapaw. Do you think you can demonstrate the duck and twist for me? You won't get it right on your first try." He warned. It was an easy move, but it was rather awkward to perfect on a first shot.
