Cinderfang
JungleClan ∙ Warrior ∙ She-Cat ∙ 45 Moons
Appearance
Description sentence:
A small tortiseshell she-cat with thick fur and green eyes
Appearance:
Cinderfang was given the prefix Cinder when she was a kit because her mother reckoned she looked like a ginger cat that someone dropped in ashes and rolled around. There is truth in such a description. Her coat is sprinkled with ginger and black, with a few small patches of white or or gray mixed in for good measure. Her pelt is long and feathery, she often looks like a big ball of fluff when she is angry. She has very long fur around her ears and tail especially. She is of a smaller stature, and while she is rather tiny and fragile looking in bone structure - her furry pelt covers her finer details. She has brilliant bright green eyes, the shade of a grassy meadow on a warm summer's day.
Personality
Please list at least three positive and three negative traits for your character below.
Positive Traits: • Protective • Confident • Intelligent | Negative Traits: • Jealous • Impulsive • Petty |
Personality:
Cinderfang would best be described as chaotic neutral if you had to put some sort of easy label on her. She follows her own whims and dances to the beat of her own drum. She has a respect for the warrior code and her clan, but she has no problem breaking the rules if she feels that it is right in that moment. She holds her own interests and those closest to her at utmost importance. While she will fight for the clan and is a hardworking warrior, the clan isn't her number one priority.
She is fiercely protective of those she cares about the most. In fact, she would gladly put her own safety in danger for those closest to her - no matter what. Her clan members she doesn't care much for? Not so much. It's pretty easy to know whether she likes you or not. Cinderfang has no issues showing her true colours. She also has no issues speaking her mind, regardless of potential consequences. This can be a problem paired with her confidence - she often acts as if she is untouchable, as if she is immune to any kind of consequences.
Cinderfang has a bit of a temper sometimes. She can be rude, unruly and impulsive. She often acts on emotion, which means not all of her decisions are well thought out. While she is extremely intelligent when she stops to think things through, her actions are often only out of impulse. She usually fights with her words, she can often become aggressive physically as well if pushed just far enough.

Character Background
Family:
Mother: Sealsong
Father: Gingernose
Siblings: Smokepool, Blazeheart
Ex-mate of Iguanagaze (shelby).
History:
Growing up in the Jungle wasn't the easiest life, as one could imagine. The constant threat of death from the terrain, predators, weather or even starvation always hung over the heads of the clan that lived in the dense northern rainforest. This fear of death or injury at every turn had Sealsong an anxious mess when she became a mother. She wasn't afraid of these things until she had her kits to worry about - then, almost suddenly, her world seemed alive with all sorts of danger she never stopped to think about before. Once the litter was born; Cinderkit, Smokekit and Blazekit were smothered with love, affection and above all - anxiety. Sealsong refused to let the kits out of her sight, and it became suffocating for everyone. Her mate Gingernose became frustrated and distanced himself from the mother and the litter when he became tired of hearing the same rants over and over whenever he visited the nursery.
Apprenticeship was a new world of freedom for the kits. Once they had earned the 'paw at the end of their names, live really began to get interesting. Often they would sneak out together when Sealsong wasn't watching and get into mischief. The dangers of the jungle didn't worry them like they worried their mother. All of that changed one even in an instant, though. Not unlike the many escapades into the jungle; the three apprentice siblings snuck out of camp in the middle of the night. Although they thought they had not been seen, Sealsong woke up in the night to discover the empty nest and in a flurry of panic raced out of camp to search for her children. The apprentices were fine, of course, and wandered back to camp and sunk into their nests heavy with sleep. It wasn't until they were awoken later at dawn when they were informed Sealsong had gone missing that they understood the consequences of their actions.
The siblings felt the disappearance and presumed death of their mother weigh heavy on them. Cindperpaw was depressed for a time, but she decided that she didn't want to live in a constant fear of what could happen. She wanted to find a zest for life, to do everything her mother wasn't able to do. She wanted to live each and every single day to the fullest. It wasn't long before her personality morphed into what she is today - a carefree, outspoken adventurer who acts on whatever whim she pleases. She was given the name Cinderfang for her strength despite her small size, and her precocious confidence.
Cinderfang was an independent she-cat who didn't put a lot of thought into having a mate. She didn't feel she needed anyone looking out for her, until she began falling in love with Iguanagaze, one of her closest friends since apprenticeship. The handsome tabby tom had been in love with another, the pretty tabby-and-white Ivytide - he never looked at her that way until the latter seemed to reject him time and time again. When Iguanagaze came to her, she felt wanted and began to see her friend in a new light. Before long, though, Ivytide began to see what she missed out on. When she started coming back around, Cinderfang began feeling something new to her - jealousy. She became a green eyed monster when Iguanagaze went back to his original flame.
While she tried not to let on how hurt she was, this soon began to show itself in a new form. She became hostile, petty and often even verbally aggressive to the pair. When Ivytide became deputy, and then leader - she had a lot of opinions. She thoroughly enjoys flaunting that Iguanagaze chose her over Ivystar at one point in time, and has no problem causing trouble when she feels inclined to. She has mostly gotten over the heartbreak, but her bitterness and jealousy have never fully simmered.
