TOADPAW
jungleclan ∙apprentice ∙ female ∙ 6 moons
Appearance
Description sentence:
A small tortoiseshell molly with medium-length fur and amber eyes.
Appearance:
Toadpaw is smaller than most apprentices her age, having a lightweight frame without much muscle to accompany it. Her presence is hardly a menacing one, with soft, silky fur and wide, childish eyes. Her fur isn’t straight and sleek like that of a predator, or of the Moon Goddess that she has heard her parents talk about. Her pelt is ragged and messy, with some parts being well-groomed and others being rough and having parts that stick straight out. She’s got rather small paws and a shorter-than-average tail, but her ears are quite large compared to what is typical. Stout whiskers jut out of her small face, as do small tufts of hair from her ears.
Personality
Positive Traits: • Passionate • Amiable • Curious • Energetic | Negative Traits: • Irresponsible • Impulsive • Gullible • Oblivious |
Personality:
Toadpaw is a very energetic young cat, having a variety of interests and being very enthusiastic about all of them. When she sets her heart on something, it’s very hard for her to just give it up. Her dedication to what she loves can be admired, but not when she puts her interests above her duty to the clan. In general, she’s very irresponsible. She’s fickle with her duties, disliking typical apprentice training and often skipping out on tasks set out by her mentor or those older than her. She’s also very impulsive, not thinking much before doing. If she has a gut feeling about a situation, she’ll tend to follow that instead of logic and reason.
The young apprentice, despite all of that, is very friendly. It’s a very innocent amiability, with empathy driving most of her actions. This friendliness can lead to her being quite gullible, trusting more than critically thinking. Her curiosity helps fuel this. She always wants to know what’s next, and that leads her to trust things that shouldn’t be trusted if it means she gets to know more.

History:
Tradition runs deep in Toadpaw's family. Her parents were highly dedicated to the clan, as were her grandparents and great grandparents. Most shared more similarities personality-wise with the cats of TidalClan than the more laid-back cats of their own clan. The teachings of the warrior code, the heavy belief in StarClan, and the consistent commitment to the clan were all values that were passed along the bloodline. Toadpaw's mother was no exception to this, living by and adhering to what her parents had taught her. Her mother did not like any changes that strayed away from the lifestyles of her ancestors, and that's what led her to her mate, as they both shared the same views.
In the middle of a scorching hot day, a litter of three was born. While the first two kits were relatively big, showing their large frames beneath swaths of black and red, the last kit was much smaller. That kit was named Toadkit, with the other two named Lizardkit and Snakekit respectively. Her parents, like her grandparents and great grandparents before them, taught the kits about the values of the original clans. While Lizardkit and Snakekit represented all Toadkit's mother and father could've wanted, Toadkit was a different story. Her brother and sister loved to play fight right outside the nursery, tackling and trying out new moves. Toadkit would often hear them talk about how amazing apprentices must have it, being able to train with mentors and hunting the prey around the jungle.
The small kit wasn't interested in any of that. Instead, she liked to collect. She collected little stones she found around camp, feathers from birds that flew overhead, and oddly shaped sticks she found. Her parents found this hobby of hers ridiculous, but she found it to be a way to pass the time. She would spend her mornings organizing and reorganizing what little she had, and spent afternoons looking for more. Often times, parts of her collection went missing, yet she persisted and filled them back up. Her array of items wasn't very plentiful, but as a small kit it sure looked like a lot. As the days grew closer to her apprenticeship, she dreaded what her siblings seemed to love about being an apprentice. Duties, following orders, fighting... all of which weren't interesting to her. However, she was ecstatic about the freedom that came along with it. No more long nights in the nursery, no more arranging and rearranging items to pass the time, and no mother to look after her all of the time. It seemed pretty nice when not focusing on training, so she ended up showing the same amount of enthusiasm as her siblings when the time came.
