Flicker of Fading Light
Tribe ∙ Navigator ∙ She-cat ∙ 48 moons
Appearance
Description sentence:
A ruddy-colored stocky she-cat with medium-length fur and yellow eyes
Appearance:
Perhaps the most striking aspect of Flicker of Fading Light is this she-cat's coat. Dyed a deep ruddy red that is thick and somewhere between long and short, she stands out among her darker-pelted clanmates. The shades of color vary depending on where they lie on her frame; her belly and insides of her legs are the lightest cream reds, while along her spine, flanks, and tail the color is a richer red brown the color of some of the mud beneath the mangrove trees. The only break in this palette is her the fur around her chin and mouth, as this is a bright white. Groomed and kept neat, she makes for a striking figure. Another aspect that aids her in standing out is her size. Like many in the Tribe, Flicker boasts a frame that is anything but petite. Her coat hides well-conditioned muscles and the broadness of her shoulders, long limbs that somehow appear to fit rather than be too large. In truth, she is a cat who is large in both personality and in build.
Her eyes are a pale yellow.
Personality
Please list at least three positive and three negative traits for your character below.
Positive Traits: • Confident • Honest • Empathetic to a point | Negative Traits: • Blunt • Selectively secretive • Standoffish |
Personality:
Flicker is sometimes a cat of contradictions. How she was raised and how she has been behaving as a Navigator don't always seem to correlate. Where once this she-cat was seen as one who craved attention at every turn and wanted nothing more than acceptance and validation from those around her, she has developed the habit of being both independent and, in the worst of times, standoffish. Where this stems from, no one is quite sure - All they do know is that if pushed too far, the gentle former Caretaker will lose her natural ear for listening to how one feels and instead be much too direct with little regard to how it may be regarded. Another change is her newfound tendency to keep secrets if she wishes. The biggest in her life right now is the father of her Tenderfoots and, so far, she has stayed true to it.
However, for those who are willing to look past this troubling behavior, they will find a confident she-cat who is honest with herself and others (if too much so at times) and a true confidant.

Character Background
Family:
Song of Morning Dove (Mother), Blaze of Burning Sun (Father, deceased), Ember of Dying Flame (Brother) Cry of Calling Bird (Sister, deceased), Unnamed daughter, Unnamed son
History:
Flicker is a direct result of her raising. From the time that she was a young Tenderfoot, she has felt the need to prove herself. As one of two surviving siblings (and the younger one at that), there was always that push in the Tribe to be better, stronger. Still, she was more than up for the challenge.
She turned her grief over the sister she never knew into a drive to be the best she absolutely could and, with her doting brother watching over, she excelled as a Swabbie - Her size and wit aided her in combat and, as such, where she lacked in hunting she more than made up for in combat. Training passed quickly for the she-cat; she soon found her ambitions lay not with simply being the best Navigator she could but a mother as well. Perhaps it was the loss of Bird or maybe her family's closeness. Whatever the reason, children of her own were what Flicker saw in her future.
Which was what exactly she got when, not long after earning her status as a full-fledged member of the Tribe, she found herself expecting. Who the father was is a secret known to them alone; Flicker ignored the questions at every turn, keeping quiet on the other half of her future litter's heritage.
Ignoring the rumors and gossip, Flicker brought her litter of two into the world and raised them as if there was nothing abnormal about their situation. To this Navigator, it was simply a matter of a mother and her children - No one else need be involved.
Some didn't agree; her brother, always hovering, has started to get on the she-cat's nerves a bit with his constant presence, though she wouldn't deny her kits (now Swabbies), the chance to get to know him. After all, a close family is what she wanted...right?
