Cranefeather
JungleClan ∙ warrior ∙ female ∙ 21 moons
Appearance
Description sentence:
A striking white she-cat with a single black patch on her forehead and yellow eyes.
Appearance:
In matters of appearance, Cranefeather is not lacking. She has soft, white fur except for the single black patch above her right eye, for which she is named. Her fur is medium length, and her paws rather delicate. Her eyes are a yellow color, sometimes glinting a gold or reddish color in the sunlight. She is lean, and has a rather small build compared to the rest of JungleClan. Despite her seemingly pretty and delicate frame, Cranefeather carries herself with utmost menace, and her face is forever hidden in shadow. Many cats have attempted to compliment her looks, but Cranefeather could care less about them. She has many small scars across her chest from injuries and adventures when she was a kitten.
Personality
Positive Traits: • Cunning • Emotional • Independent | Negative Traits: • Sadistic • Dishonest • Lonely |
Personality:
Some cats are just born evil, said her mother. Cranefeather might just be one of those cats. Don't be fooled by her delicate name and appearance. Cold and malicious, she is both a terrorist and a trump card in JungleClan. While most cats enjoy hunting for food, Cranefeather discovered hunting for sport, and can often be spotted toying with her prey before the kill. She is strange, distant, and generally deemed a psychopath by most cats. While not outwardly unfriendly, she often says strange and disconnected things that imply or suggest violence. Cranefeather has, for the most part, followed the Clan rules. However, she has been disciplined and beat down many times by Toucanstar since it seems she is simply too different from JungleClan's uptight traditions. She has no belief in StarClan, nor the Gods, nor any vague sort of religion and instead hopes that when cats die, they die forever. Her excuse for this is that when she dies, she does not want to see anyone from this lifetime. Time and again, cats have attempted to socialize and get through to her, and Cranefeather appears to reciprocate. But these cats soon find that Cranefeather is a chronic liar and break off their friendship.
Cranefeather is overall a very cunning and resourceful cat, often using unconventional methods to track down prey (or cats) for fun. She is easily focused on tasks she agrees upon and will fight for what she believes in to the death. That being said, she is incredibly independent and more or less cares for herself without the Clan's attention. She has stated before that she would have no problem leaving the Clan if Toucanstar wished, and that she was just here "because I was born here." This lack of loyalty has been reprimanded many times by other cats. Underneath all the threats and snarls, Cranefeather is quite an emotional cat. She is not good with emotional outlets and will often go out by herself and take it out on the branches of trees, or some poor unsuspecting piece of prey. When provoked, she is prone to physically attacking other cats and will not stop upon causing injury. She is known for creeping around or leaving the camp at night for unknown reasons. Most cats who did not know her as a kit would probably hope that she is kicked out of the Clan some day, given her creepy and unsettling personality. However, there are those who remember her childhood and hope that she can control her temper and support the Clan.

Character Background
Family:
Crabheart-- brother (played by Vin)
Vixenblaze - mother (deceased)
History:
Cranefeather's mother, Vixenblaze, was a beautiful she-cat. However, she was young and had no intention of settling down with any tom, not to mention kits. Vixenblaze was devastated when the medicine cat told her she was pregnant, and would sulk for many days alone. When inquired about the father, she would throw hysterical tantrums and ultimately refused to answer. The medicine cat took great care of her in those moons, knowing that the kitting was still unavoidable. As the due date drew closer, Vixenblaze admitted to her trusted medicine cat that she had been unwillingly attacked by a tom in the Clan.
When her kits were born, Vixenblaze did not attach to her kits and refused to name them. The tom was an energetic and adventurous type from the beginning. He recognized his mother's lack of love and went out of his way to compliment her effort and her looks. Eventually the young kit took matters into his own hands and named himself Crabkit. Naive and clingy, the young she-kit soon grew jealous of her mother's love toward her brother and the Clan's constant attention on Crabkit. She never named herself, but eventually Toucanstar took pity on the sulky young she-kit and gave her the named Cranekit for her peculiar appearance. Her family is not completely blame for all of Cranefeather's violent tendencies. When upset, Cranekit became withdrawn and angry, and was often found mangling small mice and animals, returning with her white fur covered in blood. She also appeared to enjoy "accidentally" injuring the other kits while playing. When Vixenblaze found out about this, she became hysterical and refused to accept Cranekit as a daughter because she did not want to raise a "monster."
As an apprentice, Cranepaw showed excellence in nearly every aspect of Clan life. Her sadistic tendencies were suppressed as she became more and more aware of her possibly harmful nature. She was a bright, cheery young she-cat that brought smiles to the elders and rest of the Clan. After all, empathy can be learned, right? Respectful, sociable, and caring, the young cat seemed to be on an upward trend until the day of her mother's death. As Vixenblaze's condition grew worse, Cranepaw continued visiting her despite Vixenblaze's harsh words. Vixenblaze would have maniac episodes where she accused Cranepaw of being a monster "because your father was too." As Vixenblaze's mental conditions grew worse, Cranepaw's mental fortitude began to wear down. Vixenblaze's harsh and critical episodes seemed to finally get to her. The optimistic and energetic apprentice slowly became more withdrawn and more obsessed with winning her mother's love, something that Vixenblaze denied her despite Cranepaw's caring efforts to be there for Vixenblaze. Cranepaw began to believe that perhaps it was true, she was born a monster. Unexpectedly, Vixenblaze was found dead in the forest on a summer day, despite her young age, curled up as if she were sleeping. It is rumored that she simply checked out from stress, or took deathberries, or maybe even encountered her initial attacker again.
Upon hearing about his mother, Crabpaw accused Cranepaw of causing Vixenblaze's death. The two had a violent fight. Cranepaw gravely injured Crabpaw and probably would have killed him had her mentor not stepped in. For her outburst, she was denied her warriors ceremony and became a warrior several moons late. Since then, she and her brother have not been on speaking terms. When she finally became a warrior, Cranefeather had become rather indifferent toward the Clan's traditions and StarClan themselves. She was given a beautiful name as a few hopeful cats in the Clan still believed that bubbly and motivated apprentice she once was would somehow resurface in Cranefeather. But at this point, calling Cranepaw a monster had become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Cranefeather certainly inherited her mother's beauty, but she also seems to have inherited her mother's temper and possibly her unknown father's psychopathic tendencies.
