History:


Part One: The Story of Two Sisters
Poppykit and Leafkit were born during a harsh leafbare where half the nursery was wiped out by starvation and greencough. Leafkit's mother ended up dying and she was given to another queen who had lost a kit, Poppykit's mother. Despite not being related by blood, the two were as close as real littermates. Poppykit was daring and capivating while Leafkit was the shyer one of the two. 

When they became apprentices, Poppypaw caught the attention of her Clanmates with how quick she was at learning and her fighting skills. She had many admirers and Leafpaw was overshadowed by her sister's achievements. Despite this, she harbored no ill will towards Poppypaw and was ignored by most of her Clan because Poppypaw was just more popular while she faded into the background. 

They soon were given their warrior names: Poppypaw became Poppyclaw for his skill in battle while Leafpaw became Leafheart for her loyalty and caring nature. Around this time, Poppyclaw caught the eyes of many toms, but she seemed to have no interests in any of them. On the other side of the coin, Leafheart was seen as a plain she-cat not worth courting. She didn't even have friends due to when she tried to get close to another cat, they instead usually forgot about her in favor of Poppyclaw. 

To the amazement of her Clan, Poppyclaw ended up becoming a mother later in life. She had given birth to three kits, letting her sister name them. What cats didn't know what that Poppyclaw did this because she would see her Leafheart staring longingly at the nursery. So to keep her sister's attention, she had the kits and used them to divert Leafheart's attention. 

Good things never last. 

Soon, Leafheart stopped coming to the nursery. Intrigued and confused, Poppyclaw ventured to see what her sister was up to only to see that the other she-cat had was hanging out with another warrior, a tom by the name of Cloudbriar. This filled Poppyclaw in anger. She tried to warn her sister to stay away from him, but they came to no avail. 

Cloudbriar then disappeared. 

The Clan was devastated at such a loss. After a moon, he was presumed to be dead even though a body was never found. Poppyclaw made sure to help Leafheart through the grief, but she counted it as a victory. Her happiness was shattered when Leafheart became swollen with kits. She was angry. Those kits would be her downfall after all, but she congratulated her sister and made sure to be supportive. 

She calculated that Leafheart would be close to kitting by now. The whole Clan was excited, after all Cloudbriar had been an excellent warrior. Poppyclaw sneered at the thought of having to share her sister with some mewling brats. No, not even share because Leafheart would give her undivided attention to her litter. There would be no time for Poppyclaw at all. 

"It feels like forever that I've been out of  camp." Leafheart said. Her belly was plump with kits and Poppyclaw couldn't help but feel the rage bubbling inside herself. No, she had to be patient. "I know that feeling. It's been a while since I've been out of the nursery myself! I almost forgot that I'm a warrior," she joked. 

Poppyclaw led her sister deeper into the jungle, far away from any camp or border patrol. Leafheart didn't seem to notice, trusting Poppyclaw completely. The queen smiled at the thought. After this, Leafheart would be completely hers and she would make sure it stayed that way. She smiled when Leafheart started slowing down, her breathing labored. 

Showtime

Poppyclaw helped her sister with the kitting. Leafheart gave birth to one pure white kit. "He reminds me of the elder tales about snow," she said softly. "Snowkit." Leafheart started dozing off, not realizing that Poppyclaw was staring intently at the kit. 

All she had to do was snap its neck. Once Leafheart was completely out, Poppyclaw slid the kit away from her sister's belly. She put a paw on its neck and was about to press down hard when the kit let out a shrill meow. Poppyclaw cursed under her breath and was about to finish the job when she was suddenly attacked. 

Leafheart was pinning her to the ground, a look of fury on her face. "How dare you!" the she-cat screeched. Poppyclaw was a better fighter but Leafheart was fighting life and death. The battle stopped when Leafheart's body went still. Poppyclaw didn't get out unscathed, her eye missing and injuries on her body. 

Leafheart was dead. 

Poppyclaw returned to camp with Leafheart's kit with a story about a panther attacking them. The queen's body was found, already being scavenged by wildlife. Poppyclaw ended up naming the kit Snowkit and had herself renamed Losteye.

Part Two: A Useless Asset 
Things were expected of Snowkit before he even opened his eyes. His father had been a great warrior and he was being raised by Losteye, who cats believed fought off a panther. Despite this, no one interacted with the kit due to Losteye's parenting. The clan chalked it up tp her being overprotective and only her own kits knew the truth. She was not going to let Snowkit stray like Leafheart did. 

Snowkit was bullied by Nightkit and Eveningkit until they became apprentices. Around that time, he was also diagnosed with partial deafness, something that Losteye used to shelter even more. He wasn't allow near any other cat except Losteye and his foster siblings.  

When it was time for his own apprentice ceremony, other cats were hesitant to mentor him. A disabled kit would not make a good warrior, especially one as fragile as Snowkit. Losteye offered to mentor him but Mothflight quickly stepped up to the plate. The warrior was nearing elderhood and this would be their last apprentice. 

As an apprentice, Snowpaw progressed slower than his fellow denmates. Mothflight was patient with their apprentice, but there was frustration when Snowpaw accidentally scared prey away or threw a fight because he didn't like hurting others. Snowpaw didn't let this get him down though as he eagerly tried to help his Clan the best way he could. Unfortunately, his Clanmates didn't see this and would mostly stay away from him, giving him chores around camp so he didn't ruin a patrol. 

Moons passed and Snowpaw was growing disheartened. He was 17 moons and still an apprentice. Mothflight would tell him to be patient and that good things will come to those who wait. So Snowpaw took the bullying he got from other apprentices and warriors, still eagerly trying to prove himself. He never said a harsh word or picked any fights and made sure to be friendly to everyone. 

It seemed like he would never be a warrior until the day Lemonkit went missing from the camp. 

Patrols had been sent out all day to look for the kit. Snowpaw offered his services only to be brushed off. He was told to stay in camp. Even Mothflight went on a patrol! Snowpaw could only hope that Lemonkit was okay. "You're just going to sit there?"

Losteye's voice hissed into his ear and a chill went down his spine. He looked into her eye and it made his tail bristle. "She's been gone for almost a whole day. They may as well be looking for a body soon." The cold way she said it made Snowpaw's heart skip a beat in horror. He could imagine the kit's body , being eaten or scavenged. Without hesitation, he ran out of camp. 

Snowpaw found the kit's trail but it soon was covered by the undeniable scent of a jaguar. He could smell that patrols had stopped their search here. But before Snowpaw went to do the same, he smelled it. The underlying scent of Lemonkit. And the jaguar scent was stale. He ran into dangerous territory. 

Snowpaw returned back to the camp with the kit and was given the name Snowwhisker for his amazing tracking ability. Mothflight was against the ceremony, stating that their apprentice was not ready but Losteye rallied the Clan for the ceremony. 

Now a warrior, Snowwhisker is still eager to prove that he is useful to the Clan. 

Lemonpaw and Mothflight will be up for adoption.
