Caimanstrike
jungleclan ∙ warrior ∙ male ∙ 40 moons
Appearance
Description sentence:
A big brown tabby tom with golden eyes.
Appearance:
Caimanstrike is a truly massive cat, both in bone and muscle. His head is broad and round, with small ears. He certainly isn't particularly pretty, but instead he is more of a handsome cat, albeit a little unique looking. A couple faint scars criss-cross the bridge of his rounded nose. His shoulders are thick and heavy, his limbs thick, short, and stocky. He's far from an agile cat, but he gets around well enough despite his size. Adding to his appearance is a fiercely thick brown and black coat, orange around his nose and ears. He's studded with long, silvery guard hairs all over his body, giving him an almost brindled appearance. He sports the hints of a broken-up white underbelly; a couple white spots on his muzzle, a white dash on his chest, and a few dapples of white from chest to stomach. His large, round eyes are a lovely golden-yellow shade, framed by starkly contrasting black stripes and waves. Caimanstrike's tail is a long, thick plume of impressive size despite the relative shortness of the rest of his coat.
Personality
Please list at least three positive and three negative traits for your character below.
Positive Traits: • Loyal to clan • Brave • Confident • Suave • Romantic | Negative Traits: • Prideful • Conniving • Untrustworthy • Manipulative • Aggressive |
Personality:
Caimanstrike is not a morally good cat, strictly speaking. He is an unrepentant narcissist, with a vicious temper and a blinding loyalty to his clan. He follows the rules without fail, and does not tolerate well those that treat them as suggestions. He takes his job as a warrior very, very seriously. On the other hand, he's not as kind to his clanmates as he seems, and isn't past manipulating them to do his bidding and the bidding of the rest of the clan. He's an expert in validating and justifying himself. Whatever he does, it's "for the greater good" and "for the good of the clan." He's a very ends-justify-the-means type.
He's not entirely bad, though, and not entirely self-serving either. Caimanstrike has quite the romantic side, and a strong desire for a family and plentiful kits to teach and be proud of. In addition, his prowess in battle is impressive. It's made even moreso by his fearlessness, even if he is brave to a fault - he doesn't fear even the things that he should fear, which often comes off as foolish. To him, it doesn't seem foolish, he knows he's in danger, but some wire somewhere in his mind seems to have come undone. Another thing he seems incapable of feeling is guilt, in the vast majority of cases. He does what he wants as long as it isn't against the rules, even if it means causing great emotional harm to those around him. The only cats immune from his machinations are those closest to him - his sister and mother. To him, they are the best things to ever happen to him, his equals, it is his duty to protect them from physical and mental harm both. Just as he is capable of great hatred and rage, so he is capable of immense love. Possessive love, unhealthy love, jealous love, but love nonetheless. As much as he longs to add a mate and children to the list of great loves in his life, Caimanstrike does very poorly at the day-to-day of relationships, and though he does anything he can for his clan he just doesn't seem to understand what other cats want from him.

Character Background
Family:
Pansypetal
History:
Crocodilebite was a militant, harsh father with high standards and Frogfoot was the much younger, much kinder queen who had unfortunately ended up with him. She had been his apprentice, some year or two prior, and it wasn't until she had his kits that she began to see his true side. Caimankit and Pansypetal were both large, healthy kits that grew quickly. They were as close as any other siblings, though they had few others their age to play with at the time. So the two played together, encouraged heavily by Crocodilebite. But playing was seldom just playing for him. He watched the two like a hawk, ready to point out the slightest flaw in their technique or stance. It was to make them better warriors, he said.
And as apprentices, the pressure didn't let up either. Caimanpaw was given a stern mentor, who at Crocodilebite's prodding also held him to unusually high standards. Nothing was ever good enough, even when Caimanpaw won. And he began to win more and more frequently as he got older, simply on account of his size. He was looking down at his mentor before he was a year old, and by the time he became a warrior he was just ever so slightly taller than his father. Pansypetal had it a little easier, but found herself limited in another way. Her father was incredibly controlling of what tomcats she spent her time with, even becoming annoyed with her for going on patrol or hunting with toms.
Eventually, Crocodilebite died, unexpectedly and a little younger than most, from a swiftly moving illness of some kind that simply could not be treated. Still, he was nearly seven and a half years old, or 90 moons. Pansypaw has since found a mate, and she and Caimanstrike remain close.
