I'm very much into these two being friends! I love how Laurel has that slightly bossy nature to her and I think that she could certainly be a help in Cicada's ever-diminishing belief in himself. I'd love to get together and thread these two peas in a pod sometime! [break][break] Artemis

Caddispaw is the older brother of both Cicadapaw and Tarantulapaw. The young male is exceedingly protective of his siblings, and has been known to coolly disregard those who speak ill about his brother. Unlike Cicada, Caddis harbors an increasing dislike for their mother and little to no concern regarding who their sire may or may not be. He is rather open in his irritation with Honeyshark which tends to raise eyebrows around the clan as he is typically mild-mannered. He's more or less had to raise his siblings, being both mother, father, and brother all rolled into one. Because of this, Caddispaw has never truly gotten to be a kid and doesn't quite understand how to joke or socialize with others his age.
Tarantulapaw
Cicada's sister + taken by theodora
Shellblossom
Little's mother + taken by name
[attr="class","infoblurb2"]
58 moons. female. tidalclan permaqueen.
[break][break]
recommended looks are a brown classic tabby with or without white[break][break]
Shellblossom has always been a maternal cat and has always pined for a large family. Despite not being able to have the numerous children she once dreamed of she is wholly content with her lot in life and knows better than to fear the Gods. She tends to be overbearing in her protectiveness of her kits despite the fact that they're fully grown. She sometimes finds herself wishing her daughter were softer around the edges like her, but she's come to accept over the moons that Littleshark will never be the sweet or darling girl she once hoped for. All in all, Shell is a good mother, and a good mate to her childhood love. They've had rough patches sure, but their family has always had each other's backs and she knows without a doubt that she raised her children into thoughtful, well-rounded individuals.[break][break]
Possible Characteristics: Maternal, Helicopter Mom, Critical, Pious, Idealistic
Stormwatcher
Little's father + taken by name
[attr="class","infoblurb2"]
63 moons. tom. tidalclan fighter.
[break][break]
recommended looks are any shade of grey, with or without tabby, with or without white[break][break]
A real a-class kind of guy, Storm is the father figure of anyone and everyone in his vicinity. He's big on dad jokes and has a mega weakness when it comes to kits and apprentices. He wants nothing more than to see the new generations of his clan thrive and flourish with life. Even so, the tom does have a penchant for being too lenient and has been known to let the apprentices get away with shirking their duties from time to time. He values his family above all else but is quite the hypocrite considering he doesn't so much as speak to his own brother. Probably something to do with Storm 'stealing' Shell from Stag. But hey, she chose him in the end and they live quite the happy life together. [break][break]
Possible Characteristics: Wise, Easy-going, Dad joke central, Lenient, Courageous
Marlinstrike
Little's brother + taken by theordora
[attr="class","infoblurb2"]
37 moons. tom. tidalclan fighter.
[break][break]
recommended looks are any shade of grey/blue, with or without tabby, with or without white[break][break]
Marlinstrike is a doting big brother, and protective to boot. His father raised him to treat a lady right and though he's broken a couple of hearts in his younger moons he's matured into a capable tom. He adores his baby sister and wants nothing more than to give her the world despite her habit of irritating the mouse-whiskers out of him with her unladylike antics at times. He tends to be quite the proper tom, doing his duty and spending time with his family as much as possible. There's quite a bit the surface could hide though, and despite appearing as though he's an easy-going guy Marlin does have his moments. The only time he feels comfortable enough to let his mask of ease and propriety slip is when he's alone in the world as he felt an undue amount of pressure during his kithood to be the perfectly poised prodigal son. Though he would never tell her, he harbors a twinge of resentment for his little sister, as she's gotten to rebel and do as she pleased in life while he could not. [break][break]
Possible Characteristics: Brave, Helpful, Mysterious, Depressed, Charming
Stagfrost
Little's uncle + taken by mars
[attr="class","infoblurb2"]
63 moons. tom. tidalclan elder.
[break][break]
recommended looks are a very dark grey/black, with or without tabby, no white[break][break]
Stagfrost was her mentor before he was her uncle. As Stormwatcher's only littermate, the two grew up in a highly religious, tight-knit family. While his brother thrived within their small group content with his lot in life, Stag wanted nothing more than to change his own. He held within himself a great ambition and when given Littleshark to train he did his best to instill that same ambition in her. Ever since he and Storm were kits Stag has striven to do better than his sibling. At one point Shellblossom was intrigued by his dangerous allure and talks of grandeur but eventually she outgrew his antics and though it wasn't planned she ended up with Stormwatcher instead. Because of this Stagfrost holds quite the bit of resentment for his brother, and that fickle emotion has since morphed into a toxic, almost addicting hatred. Due to his injury (which he not-so-quietly blames his niece for) the tom was forced into elderhood and he finds himself with too much time to think on his utter dislike in regards to his estranged family members.[break][break]
Possible Characteristics: Jealous, Arrogant, Cruel, Materialistic, Manipulative
Despite being perhaps the most awkward feline Jungleclan has ever bred, Cicadapaw doesn't find it hard to make lasting friendships. The tom is nothing if not polite, and does his best to be openly friendly. He does his best not to take the other apprentice's joking nature regarding his prevalent anxiety attacks to heart despite how much hearing their laughter at his expense makes him want to curl into a ball and disappear. I imagine Cicada having quite a few friends, especially among the more tolerant apprentices. Likewise, I can see him having friends that try to help him with his anxiety, cheering him on, supporting him, possibly providing some tough love, and altogether helping him through the worst of his self-doubt.
name
+ ENEMIES
Surprisingly these are just as easy to come by, though 'true' enemies are few and far in-between. For Cicadapaw, any cat that may view him as being too soft would likely be an enemy in the loosest of terms. It's baffling how such a strong female warrior was able to produce a nervous, finicky cat like Cicada and the fact that his siblings are so strong-willed themselves leaves them to believe that his sire's genetics were less-than. To be honest, Cicadapaw probably has at least one bully somewhere in Jungleclan, whether it be another apprentice or even a warrior who doesn't trust his unknown genetics.

+ LOVERS
One day I'll add something here, but alas that day is not today.

+ FAMILY
Family is somewhat of a touchy subject for him. Unlike his siblings, Cicada has tried time after time to gain his mother's approval and though he's accepted he'll never get it he can't seem to get her constant judgement to vacate his mind. Every move he makes is done with the thought that she could be watching, waiting in the shadows to pronounce him to the clan as an utter failure. He's lucky to have siblings like Caddispaw and Scarabpaw, though. His older brother and younger sister are similar in nature, fierce down to their very bones without an ounce of care about their so-called mother. Caddis tends to shower his younger brother with a bit of tough-love while Scarab is prone to attempts at improving his image of himself. Without close bonds to the felines that brought them into this world, the sibling trio is extremely tight-knit and turns to one another for just about everything these days.

Littleshark is an easy feline to befriend despite her quickness to delve into a fight. The she-cat's intelligence and playful nature have lead her to be quite popular within her clan, especially among the fledglings as she can often be found hanging around helping them with battle tactics. Competitive, she's always up for a bit of friendly competition and isn't above acting half her age if the scenario allows her to do so. name
+ ENEMIES
Her foul mouth and obstinate nature can surely make the young molly persona non grata among older generations. Though she's never told anyone, Littleshark is a staunch non-believer when it comes to the gods. She doesn't particularly support the idea that some outside force is in control of her life and tends to skip out on her daily prayers more often than not. Her stubborn nature can be off-putting at times and has been known to ruffle feathers, but the she-cat figures that if others can't handle the heat they should simply stay away from her fire.
name
+ LOVERS
At the moment the she-cat isn't openly searching for love. She has things in life she wishes to accomplish before settling down and, truth be told, she's not sure if she would be a good mother or not. Her own parent's love story is something she does want to have in the future but for now she's content to simply chase after her ambitions without the worry of a family at her back.
name
+ FAMILY
Relationships with her family are extremely tight-knit. Littleshark adores her older brother and growing up wanted nothing more than to be just like him. Though much quicker to anger the she-cat seems to have done just what she set out to do. She's quite close with both of her parents, though closer with her father as Shellblossom tends to try and meddle a bit too much in her day to day life. Though her uncle Stagfrost was her first mentor, Littleshark openly avoids the tom at all costs these days due to his blaming her for being forced to retire to the elder's den earlier than he had originally wished.

Description sentence: A tall brown and white tom with pale blue-grey eyes
Appearance: Similar to the vast majority of Jungleclan, Cicadapaw tends to look bigger than he truly is. The young male is all awkward limbs and sharp angles, only just covered by a tight layer of multi-hued fur. Long legs leave him standing at a height that would arguably be impressive if he didn't constantly hunker down in consistently failed attempts to hide in plain site. When finally forced to stand tall, Cicadapaw often finds himself at war with his own body, tripping over a paw here or a tucked tail there. Despite such a wiry appearance, it is obvious that the tom will eventually fill between now and his future warrior-ship as most youngsters do.
Although there are certain things bound to change over time, there are also some facets of himself that Cicadapaw is dolefully aware will never go away. His fur, for instance, short and irritatingly soft much to his irritation. The majority of his pelt is the same light shade of brown, darkening noticeably along the bridge of his nose, ears and tail. Breaking up the earthy hues are shocking swaths of white, a stark contrast that flows from his eyes, along his neck, down his chest to finally stop at the underside of his belly. All four paws are capped with the clean, pristine color and Cicada can't help but think it makes him stick out like a sore thumb among the more solid coloration of his clan-mates.
Cicada's eyes are made noticeable by the bright white beneath them, giving the impression that the apprentice has permanent tears flowing down his face. His eyes themselves are a clear blue-grey in color though 'color' is a rather subjective word. But for the darkening around his iris, it could be easily mistaken that Cicadapaw's eyes were devoid of pigment altogether.
Personality: An odd little fellow to say the least, Cicadapaw is nothing if not painfully awkward. The tom is easily embarrassed, a fact that his siblings and fellow apprentice tend to capitalize on daily. When that bubbly, anxious feeling hits him the male feels as though there's water lodged in his brain. He winds up wide-eyed and lightheaded, mouth opening and closing as he stutters out a vague attempt at apology before swiftly disappearing into the darkest depths of the apprentice den. His mother and elder brother have tried time and again to show Cicada a bit of tough love, but their efforts tend to fall flat as the timid tom struggles to change his ways.
Despite what can only be described as a harsh upbringing, Cicadapaw never fails to remain dauntingly polite. In the midst of being yelled at, the apprentice finds himself unable to do anything but mutter a quick 'yes ma'am' to his mentor before diving back into whatever lesson he's learning. Compassionate to a fault, it's well-known among Jungleclan that he is quick to offer up his meal to another if they so much as hint that they didn't eat enough. Such a giving nature doesn't bode well for the future, as his clan-mates can't help but wonder if Cicada's penchant for helping those he deems 'in need' would cause his loyalties to the clan to waver. Probably not, but you one really knows.
Unfortunately for him, Cicadapaw finds apprentice training to be the most difficult part of the whole shebang. He's exceedingly anxious and has a terrible case of performance anxiety. When it's just himself and his mentor practicing, the tom's hunting skills are nearly unparalleled. Put him in the pretense of another apprentice though, and Cicada goes right back to stumbling over his own paws as all his attention is on his fellow competitor and not the task at paw. Fighting has never - and likely will never be - his forte. Cicada is too easily discouraged and he tends to go into a mock-battle already believing himself to be the loser.
He certainly can't be faulted for not trying, however, as his commitment to his training is nearly all-consuming. Cicadapaw is well and truly scared of being the clan disappointment like his mother says he is and he's absolutely terrified that if he doesn't prove himself useful they'll eventually kick him out. Of course such a thing would never happen - the clan is family and family is for life - but his mother has surely twisted his soft, malleable heart around her claws.
Surprisingly, when left to his own devices or to the company of his siblings, it would seem as though Cicada were another cat altogether. Without the fear of judgement weighing him down, the apprentice is boisterous and rowdy, cracking jokes at his siblings expense with the best of 'em. Not many get to see the more carefree side of him and it takes a cat he feels truly comfortable around for Cicadapaw to let his guard down.
History: It was never a secret that Honeyshark didn't favor kits, nor did she care much for apprentices in the long-run either. She gave her time and energy to three things: Her clan, her looks, and toms. A pretty feline by far, Honeyshark was never one to have trouble when it came to finding a warm body for a bit of company. Truth be told, she was a player and she liked it that way. Nothing to tie her down and an endless pool of options ripe for the taking. She was a careful one though, taking certain measures to make sure kits would remain firmly out of her future. In her case, though, it seems as if she wasn't quite careful enough.
Upon finding out about her impending pregnancy, Honeyshark all but demanded that it be stopped. It was far too late for such measures, however, and the she-cat resolutely found herself succumbing to this new fact of life. There was no telling who had sired the kits, and even after their birth she made no effort to figure out who their father was. Especially considering that each of her kits looked so utterly different than one another. She would be a bold-faced liar if she even attempted to name some cat or another as their sire. Honeyshark was surely many things, but a liar she was not.
Many believed that despite the she-cat's initial dislike at the notion of being a mother, she would eventually grow into the roll. Yet such ideals were ill begotten fantasies. She named each of her brood after insects, creatures she deemed inherently less than and altogether insignificant. Though such things were unknown to the newborns, anyone who'd grown up with Honeyshark and her genuine dislike of anything creepy-crawly was quick to understand the meaning behind names like Caddis, Cicada and Scarab.
Growing up in a world with Honeyshark as his mother should have brought about in Cicadapaw the same results as his older and younger sibling. Her blase attitude and constant irritation regarding all things 'kittish' made Caddis and Scarab into fierce young felines who refused to take shit from anyone. They were quick to learn that their mother would not shower them with affection and sought out friendships among the other kittens instead. Cicadapaw, however, wanted nothing more than for his mother to smile at him just once and tell him he'd done something - anything - well like the other mother's did with their children.
Apprenticeship was something Caddis and Scarab greatly looked forward to. They were more than ready to fend for themselves and they had all the social skills to do so quite easily. Unlike Cicada, the fiery duo hadn't let Honeyshark's harsh treatment stop them from achieving their own personal goals and they were perhaps more like their mother in terms of waspishness than either like to admit. In the shadow of his brother and sister, Cicadapaw is very much a damsel in distress. He is uncomfortable in his own body and the constant berating of Honeyshark has left him with almost no self-confidence whatsoever. He's gone into his apprenticeship with his mother's taunting judgement echoing in the back of his mind, holding very little faith that he will make something of himself in the long-run.
